Tens of thousands of normal freedom loving Americans join together at Tea Party rallies in protest against a federal government that is too big, too expensive and too intrusive and what is the liberal response? They call these people racist, KKK without robes and hoods, tea baggers and every other insulting and disparaging names and insults they can think of.
In case some are new to making your voice publicly heard through your activism in the political process, you need to know something about how liberals operate in attempting to silence your voice. The use of insults and character assignation is the leading tool that liberals use to try to silence the opposition.
Calling you racist, dumb, stupid, ignorant and comparing you to the KKK is intended to intimidate you and silence your voice. This slander is conceived at the highest levels of the Democrat Party by far left liberals who have their willing minions filter this non-sense down throughout its ranks for the express purpose of ending debate. The far left corrupt liberal main stream media picks up the liberal talking points and only adds heat to the fire.
Calling you a racist is a gimmick the race baiters of the civil rights coalition have used for a long time. This tactic was then picked up by liberals and used against conservatives because it worked. Our first instinct when being called such names is to try to convince the other side you’re not a racist. That’s exactly where liberals want you because now you have stopped making the political argument in defense or promotion of your political ideology and now find yourself defending the charges you a racist. That’s how liberals operate and conservatives need to understand what liberals are doing and fight back against it.
I have a suggestion for conservatives to use against liberals when insulted. Simply say, I know in my heart that I am not a racist. I find it personally insulting and you should be ashamed of yourself for using such character assignations to deflect the fact that liberalism has failed wherever and whenever it is tried. This federal government is too big, too expensive and too intrusive and more government makes all of us less free and that’s the soul reason for my activism. In other words, briefly answer the charge, expose the tactic of liberals and state the reason for your activism. Don’t let liberals intimidate you.

Spector Should Take Snow and Collins with Him
What is the satisfaction of a victory if you have to sale your soul to the devil to accomplish it? The announcement that Arlan Spector is leaving the Republican Party to join the Democrats does not phase me the slightest. My hope is that fellow liberals Susan Collins and Olympia Snow would join him as well.
For too long Republicans allowed liberals in their midst in the hopes of creating a big tent of diversity and what resulted was a party that stood for nothing. With a veto proof majority the American people will see pure liberalism and socialism for what it always has been. Democrats will no longer be able to blame Republicans for anything because they will retain all the power.
America will soon go into deep decline because liberalism is always a failure and will always be a failure. As American’s become less free, less secure and more enslaved to an intrusive and tyrannical government, my prediction is one by one they will wake up and realize that it was the Democrats and their liberal philosophy that was directly responsible for the decline of America.
Democrats will not have to lie and hide from their liberalism anymore. They are now free to come out and expose themselves for what they are. Yes, Americans will suffer but that is the price we will all have to pay for our apathy and lack of convictions about right or wrong. In a democracy you get what you vote for. If you defend corruption you’ll get corruption. There is now going to be absolute one party rule and Democrats are now in total power. We will now witness what absolute liberalism looks like.
The Republican Party can either role over and play dead or they can rise up and offer the American people a superior political philosophy that when practiced has made Americans since its inception more free, more prosperous, more accountable, more moral, more secure and a place that values the sanctity of each and every human. It wasn’t conservative principles that brought the Republican Party down, it was compromising with liberalism.
The Republican Party will be wise to purge itself of liberals, quit funding liberal politicians and create a new party of bold colors and no pastels as Reagan would say. Once our political enemies have been purged from the party, it can start over with its friends and those who share in its traditional conservative values. From the grass roots a new generation of conservative leaders can emerge and America can be restored to its greatness.
Let today be the beginning of a traditional conservative peaceful revolution. Let this day be our Declaration of Independence.

OBama and His Olive Branch
Incompetence Central, Washington DC. Now that the Iranians shoved President Obama’s Olive Branch back into his face, now what?
President Osama has apparently convinced himself that the power of his personality will turn our nation’s enemies into doves by saying nice things about them. Liberals may have bought Obama’s rhetorical BS, but it’s pretty clear our enemies don’t share Obama’s, “let’s all just be friends” diplomatic approach. The nation had this debate back in the campaign and once again Obama is proven wrong.
Our enemies hate America and the only thing that holds them back from a full frontal attack is not our sincere desire to live in peace with our world neighbors, but the fact we have the ability to destroy them should they try. Our enemies don’t see the nice of Obama. They perceive him as both naive and weak. The Iranians, North Korea and others are not going to stop with their nuclear ambitions. Why should they? It was the Democrats who worked for failure in Iraq and now they hold all the political power.
Here’s my prediction. Iran will soon announce they have nuclear weapons and the Obama administration for all its bluster at the end of the day will do nothing. Liberals have this notion that criminals and our enemies are simply misunderstood and if we just say nice things to them, that they will change their ways.

High Fives For Obama
President Obama showed great leadership when he demonstrated his displeasure with the spending billed that contained 8,500 ear marks by signing the bill in private. After promising to go line by line of these spending bills and cutting out the ear marks, Obama denied Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid the photo opportunity they had hoped for by signing the bill in his private chambers.
The American people can sure be proud of this brave act of leadership of our young President. He stood up to Pelosi and Reid and by golly signed the bill in private. Now that’s Hope and “Change We Can Believe In”. High fives for the President!
The spending bill itself confirmed to the America people just how fiscally responsible the Democrat controlled Congress and White House is and validates the vote of the American people by giving Democrats all the political power. Cowering Obama
Is President Obama signing the $410 billion spending bill with nearly nine thousand ear marks in private supposed to make any American feel better? This is “Change We Can Believe In”? President Obama was given the perfect opportunity to demonstrate leadership, buy telling lawmakers that in light of the economic crisis and unemployment rate of over 8% to strip the bill of ear marks or he would veto the bill.
Instead he signed it in private as if that somehow demonstrates his displeasure. This is so reminiscent of the Jimmy Carter years when Carter refused to leave the White House in protest of Iran holding American hostages. As with Carter, Obama had the political capital to make a difference, but chose to cower in the shadows and let the injustice continue.

Israel's Just War
The first responsibility of a just government is to protect its people from foreign and domestic enemies that wish to destroy them. The state of Israel lives in constant threat from its radical Islamic neighbors that seek to destroy them off the face of the earth.
Guided by a religious dogma that aims to impose its religion on all non-islamic individuals and countries through all means including violence is a reality that Israel lives with every day. The big lie in the Arab world is they somehow care about the Palestinian cause.
The Palestinian people have been given ampel opportunity to have a homeland but instead have chosen the path of violence and hate. Allowing Hamas to govern the Gaza and attack Israel daily with rocket fire has finally invoked a response from Israel and now they act as though they are victims. The Palestinians are not victims they are suffering under the consequences of their own hate. When you sell your soul to the devil you shouldn't be surprised when you end up in hell.
Israel is totally justified in defending itself and now would be wise to ignor any calls for a cease fire and should destroy Hamas through war, defeat its enemies in order to create peace. Unfortunately, war sometimes becomes the vehicle to peace. War is ugly and innocent people die. That's the realities of war.
The morality of war however depends on its motivation and justification. If war is waged for the purpose of oppressing then it is unjust. If war is waged to protect, defend and free individuals from tirrany then it is just.
Hamas provoked the attack with Israel and now they have to live with its consequences or in this case die as a result of the situation they created. End the Tolerance Insanity
I’m not sure where this idea of tolerance means abandoning that which is good, wholesome, and righteous and just to make some feel better about themselves, but this non-sense has to stop.
A prime example of a city that is so tolerant of everything that they are destroying their once beautiful city is San Francisco California. Tolerance is accepting of that which may be different, not embracing that which is evil, harmful and corrupt.
There is nothing cool about a congregation of homeless people who have ruined their minds through alcohol and drug abuse, living in squallier and poverty. There is no honor in allowing those devastated by mental disorders to be allowed to roam the streets unprotected and live without the medications that would make them sane. There is nothing right about allowing people to destroy their minds with drugs in the public square and not challenging them of its dangers. Worse yet, allowing them to purchase drugs out of a vending machine or giving them a supply of needles.
There is nothing gained by celebrating individuals who have such a twisted view of their sexual identity that they can not even distinguish whether they are male or female. There is nothing noble about allowing women to sale their bodies for money in order to support their drug or alcohol habits. There is nothing good that comes out of a pornographic society.
Look at San Francisco and tell me what good comes out of this “tolerant “ city where even its elected officials embrace this vitiated culture? Allowing this culture to exist unchallenged is not an expression of tolerance it’s down-right cruel. Tolerance not based in morality is anarchy.
San Francisco values as some call it is a social cancer eating away at our society that will bring nothing but ruin lives, despair and hopelessness. I would never want any of my friends and family to live the reality and results of embracing the San Francisco value system.
It’s high time that Americans quit being intimidated by the messengers of this horrible value system that will ultimately destroy everyone in its path. There is nothing cool about the San Francisco value system. It’s disgusting. If you care and love people, you work to lift them up out of bondage not join it.

Why I Will Vote McCain
Dear friend,
I have done what I can do to persuade everyone I know why they should not vote for Barrack Obama. Today, I want to explain the reasons why I will cast my vote for John McCain and try to persuade you to do the same.
My support for John McCain has not come easy. I am a social, economic and national security conservative. I have felt over the years that John McCain had betrayed his party and by siding with Democrats. I disagreed with McCain on a number of issues and to be honest he was about 5th on my list of those whom I wanted to be my President.
John McCain won the Republican nomination and my guy lost. I was faced with a choice, would I support the Democratic nominee, sit home and not vote or vote for John McCain. It’s the same choice every other voter has.
To be honest, I am one of many Republicans that have been very unhappy with my party. Some Republicans turned out to be corrupt and the Republican Party did not practice fiscal responsibility and spent way too much of the peoples money. What I also know is that way too many Democrats are corrupt too and Democrats enjoy spending the people’s money like drunken sailors as well. Both parties despite all the rhetoric have been equal opportunity offenders both ethically and fiscally. I am personally sick and tired of corrupt politicians and all those that defend them. Corruption and incompetency are destroying this nation and Republican and Democrats have both been guilty. I don’t care at this point which side has been more corrupt, I am just sick of corruption.
So far this is not a ringing endorsement of John McCain is it? My transformation for John McCain started with the Presidential Forum at Rick Warren’s Saddle Back church when both he and Barrack Obama were asked the same questions that were more than opportunities for canned answers but explored and challenged each man’s thinking. From my perspective John McCain echoed my values and Barrack Obama did not. McCain, pro-life, pro-marriage, pro-traditional values, limited government, strong role models ect. Barrack Obama liberal on every issue.
Now, I am leaning slightly for McCain. To be intellectually honest, Barrack Obama forever lost my vote at Saddle Back. His answer on the life issue saying such questions about when life should be protected was above his pay grade sent chills down my spine. His answer revealed that in Obama’s world view the definition of life is determined by public opinion. I can’t get past the holocaust mentality that said Jews were subhuman and deserving of death and that the dehumanization of another human being led to the slaughter of millions upon millions of innocent women, men and children whose only crime was the God they served.
The same warped mentality allowed blacks to be treated as subhuman and the same warped mentality allows abortion on demand calling it reproduction rights. Abortion is America’s national shame. I feel sorry for the women that find themselves with unwanted pregnancies, but I loath those who have pushed the notion that the unborn are not humans deserving of their right to life.
Although I would no longer consider Obama, I was still unsure of John McCain. My next test was who would be his VP choice. I kept hearing Mitt Romney’s name. While many conservatives liked Romney, I was not one of them. As a Governor of a liberal state, Romney supported abortion rights and gay rights, but since supposedly has had a conservative conversion. Maybe he did, but I am suspicious of election year conversions and I was preparing myself for the first time in my adult life, sitting out the election should McCain select Romney as VP.
Then McCain made a bold, historic and tremendous choice in choosing Sarah Palin. A solid conservative who possesses all the values and principles that are near and dear to me as a social, economic and national security conservative. The fact she fought corruption in her own party, was a mayor, governor and had a life story similar to average Americans drew me in. My respect for John McCain for making such a wise choice grew by leaps and bounds. It was at that point I for the fist time became a supporter of John McCain.
Then there was the Republican Convention when the real John McCain was introduced to the nation. To hear his story as a prisoner of war and how it shaped his life and world view helped me to understand the man. John McCain is a national hero that truly puts his country first. While I may not always agree with him, he has the good of the nation in his heart. I trust John McCain. After putting all the pieces of the puzzle together the true portrait of the man has emerged. John McCain is man of honesty, character, courage and integrity. I trust him to do his best to protect my family and my nation. John McCain will challenge Washington DC to reform and he will surround himself with like minded people who also are striving to put country first. All I can ask my President to do is to do his best, place our country before person gain, protect and defend the Constitution and secure the liberties and freedoms we all enjoy.
John McCain the portrait of the man is complete. You can trust John McCain. Barrack Obama’s portrait is not complete. There are too many questions left unanswered and what little we know about him does not warrant our trust. I respectively ask that you vote for John McCain to be our next President of this great nation. John McCain has won my trust, respect and my vote.

Palin's Lack of Foreign Policy Experience
Sarah Palin should answer the foreign policy question this way. " As Barrack Obama, he and I both do not have extensive foreign policy experience. He leads the ticket and I am the Vice presidential nominee. John McCain on the other hand has a tremdendous amount of foreign policy experience and he knows the world and is one of the world's foremost experts on the subject.
If something tragic was to happen to John McCain and I was thrust into the role as President, I would surround myself with the best foreign policy advisers in the country in order to get the best advice possible. I would then use that advice and apply my common sense conservative principals and sound judgement to whatever the situation. I intend to learn from John McCain and if elected by the American people, I will gain the experience and a deeper understanding of the complex world in which we live.

Palin Power
Sarah Palin came out of know nowhere and has single handily ignited the conservative movement in this great country of ours. She is one of us which scares liberals so bad that they simply don't know what to do.
Liberals started with attacks on her experience until they realized she has more then the standard bearer of their party, Barrack Obama. They then went down the personal character attack road which has blew up in their faces because Palin is a decent, honest, God and family loving mother, wife and patriot who puts her country above politics. Palin is hugely popular in Alaska with an approval rating of 80%. Her speech at the Republican Convention will go down as one of the best political speeches ever given given in American history.
Palin is the embodiment of what conservatives are all about. She is the real deal. Conservatives now have someone they can point to and say if you want to know what a conservative is, look at Sarah. Is she perfect? No. Is she Jesus Christ and our Savior? No. Sarah Palin is a incredibly smart and gifted lady who knows how to love her family, respect her neighbor, stand against evil and corruption and lead a city, state and nation. Her common sense approach to leadership is guided by real life experience, a profound faith in God, sense of civic duty and a keen understanding how the economy and our culture works best.
Liberals thought they could destroy her by pointing out that in spite of her traditional views on sex before marriage her daughter got pregnant. What Palin demonstrated is that you can still love and support your daughter in spite of a bad decision and still respect and honor the life of a unborn child. When Palin found out that her own unborn child had Down Syndrome, she didn't rush off and abort the child because it wasn't perfect. She embraced her unborn child with challenges as she did every one of her other children. She loves that baby unconditionally and views the baby with whatever challenges the baby has a special gift from God.
Instead of liberals celebrating her choice, they curse her because she doesn't accept their premise that killing your unborn child is some special right that a woman should have. The pure possibility that this so called right of a woman to abort their offspring may be coming to an end, drives these liberal feminist over the edge. Furthermore, the fact that another woman may be the one leading the pro-life movement threatens them. Palin who should be celebrated by women and feminist for demonstrating that women are every man's equal and every bit as capable as men is being castigated and attacked because she does not support abortion.

Huckabee For President Not VP
Timing is everything. It is my opinion that Mike Huckabee would make a great president. However, I recognize that just as Reagan, the first time around did not result in victory. While many of Huckabee's supporters would love to see MCCain pick Huckabee as his VP, I don't see that happening.
I would rather see Governor Huckabee spend the next 4-8 years working at the grass roots level rebuilding the conservative base and getting ready to run again for President as opposed to being the VP. The political dynamics of this election may be well suited for McCain choosing a woman as his VP and the name that sticks in my mind is Kay Bailey Hutchison.
Such a pick would be met by support from the conservative base and allow McCain to avoid all the pitfalls associated with picking someone like Mitt Romney. A Hutchinson selection would help McCain with the women vote and would give Hillary supporters an alternative to Obama. Since it's pretty clear that Hutchinson would most likely not seek the Presidency in future years although she is definately qualified to do so, would allow Huckabee and Romney to demostrate thier conservative creditials.
The social conservatives are split on Romney and economic conservatives are split on Huckabee. It is my opinion that Huckabee has the potential to inspire America as Reagan and may well be able to carry Reagan's mantle. The verdict is still out on Romney.

It's The Christians Stupid -by Mark Joseph

In 1980 Ronald Reagan changed the foundations of presidential politics when he went before an Evangelical group and, referencing the fact that preachers weren't supposed to endorse politicians, famously declared: "You can't embrace me, but I embrace you."
They loved it and voted for him in record numbers. Before 1980, many Evangelicals and conservative Catholics either stayed home or voted Democratic, but Reagan changed everything. Since then, only one Democrat, Bill Clinton, has won the White House, and he did it by winning substantial numbers of these voters. You can do the same, but you've got a lot of work to do and a lot of fences to mend.
Can you believe it? This is a huge Democratic year, your opponent is one of the most charming and attractive candidates in presidential election history, and you're just outside the margin of error? Amazing. Don't get cocky, you could still blow this thing, but you're probably going to pull this out of the hat — but only if you do a few key things.

Eighty-four percent of Americans call themselves Christians. When you think of this group, think of yourself. If somebody asked you how you became one, you'd probably say because you were born in America or because your parents were Christian.
Next, 47 percent of Americans are Evangelicals or born-again Christians, i.e., people who can give a time and date when they were "born again" or had a transformative experience with Jesus — but are sometimes confused on the basic doctrines of the Christian faith. Obama's probably in this category, along with Bill Clinton.
Then there is the smaller category of "world view Christians," around 7 percent of the population — think Mike Huckabee or Pat Robertson — because their faith comes with an accompanying worldview, the kind of stuff they read in books by authors like Chuck Colson, Francis Schaeffer or Nancy Pearcey. John, you own this group because they're not interested in personality — yours or Obama's — just voting records and overall philosophy.
First, if you do nothing else, fire up the Straight Talk Express or whatever it's called and get your tail to Colorado Springs. Can you really be dumb enough to have called James Dobson and asked him to come to your hotel room in Denver? Are you crazy? Would you call the pope and tell him you're going to be in Switzerland and would he mind meeting you at your chalet?
Evangelicals don't have popes; they have leaders with names like Dobson, Colson, Warren, Graham and Mohler. Unless you have a death wish, suck it up, fly to Colorado Springs and work out a mutual mea culpa ahead of time wherein you say you're sorry for the "agents of intolerance" thing and Dobson says he spoke too soon when he said he'd never vote for you. By the way, there's a way to do this without outraging your friends in the press: wrangle an invitation to be on Dobson's radio show. That way you're not going to beg, but rather to be a guest on his show — just as you would be on Leno or Letterman.
Let me be blunt with you: If you don't do this, you will lose the election. It's just that simple. Here's why:
I'll tell you what your paid consultants won't tell you: You're not a nice man. And I mean that in the nicest possible way. Don't feel bad. The country is ready for a mean guy who will crack heads, get things done and ride off into the sunset (maybe after one term), and even Evangelicals understand that. You're the stepfather who joins the family after the nice dad dies, and sits the kids down and tells them that while you don't do hugs or "I love you's," you will put them through college if they live by your rules, don't do drugs and get good grades. That's what the country is ready to accept: a tough stepfather who takes care of the family, fulfills his obligations and keeps everybody safe.
Work with that reality. Don't fight it. And admit your faults readily. For the sake of the Evangelicals, own up to the dumping of your first wife. Lay your cards on the table. Invite a camera crew from the 700 Club to follow you and Cindy as you go and visit with your first wife and have a healing moment. Hey, it's an Oprah world, don't fight it.
Tell the Club's viewers not to try it at home and that God has forgiven you and taken your lousy behavior and turned it in to something good by giving you such great kids who have served their country and a wonderful girl that your wife insisted you adopt. They understand the concept of forgiveness, but forgiveness comes after repentance.
And while we're talking about your wife, tell her to take it down a notch. She is one of the most gorgeous creatures on God's green earth, but every time Hank in Little Rock or Jimmy in Greensboro sees her in her outfits, all they can think about are the times they were tempted to dump Helen and Suzy sitting on the couch next to them for a "Cindy" they met at work or on a business trip. A little less makeup and fewer form-fitting outfits will go a long way to tamp down the resentment from Jimmy and Hank.
As you reach out to Evangelicals, don't pander or linger too long or get bogged down in theology. You're not one of them, they get it. Don't get caught up in debates over salvation or the trinity or creationism, but you really should be able to point to a date when you converted to Christianity. Think hard and try to remember the date. In their gut they know you're not quite with them, and that you probably believe in evolution, but they'll still vote for you if you don't shove it in their face. Just say you leave that stuff to your pastor and that your focus is on being President, but that you'll have an open door to their leaders. It's enough that you're with them on abortion and are unembarrassed to use the word "unborn." That's your secret password with them.
A word about Iraq: Even Evangelicals are tired of this war. Acknowledge this reality. Turn Obama's strategy on its head: Tell them that in the long run you will get their boys and girls home sooner than he will because he'll do the herky-jerky-pulling-out-too-quickly and then have to go back in when humanitarian crises ensue. Remind them that you're a military guy — you know how to break things, kill people and get out as quickly as possible, and that that's what you're going to do. Explain the 100-year thing as military bases that will stabilize oil prices, not a constant fighting presence. Remember, even conservative Christians get tired of long wars, and they want to get out. Make them as well as independents think that you're the man to get the boys home sooner.
You're as old as the hills; use it to your advantage. Remind young and old in subtle ways that this is your last shot and they can always vote for Obama another time in the next 30 years. Tell them Bible stories about really old guys who did great things — like Abraham and Moses. Quote Reagan's line to Mondale. You're coming in to fix the mistakes of two young, callow men — Bush and Clinton — who were inexperienced and got us into messes. No more youngsters; it's time for the old cranky guy to come in and clean things up.

Bobby Jindal is a little young, but he's a devout Catholic who once wrote about participating in an exorcism, plus he's wonkish enough to dispel the age issue. Palin is great, but doesn't really bring a needed state and isn't a national figure. Mitt might be a pain to have to deal with, but he does bring Michigan and maybe Massachusetts, as well as a boatload of Mormon money, and though Evangelicals don't want him for president, they might be OK with Veep, figuring they can refuse to let him pass Go in eight years. Huckabee might be a good choice — the Evangelicals love him, and he can nail down the South for you, but can you live with him for eight years? Thune is a devout Christian who went to college in LA and has ties there and may help you carry California, and he's pure gold to all the guys who hate you on the right. He's probably your best bet. Let him spend the entire campaign shoring up your base and grabbing California, while you do your maverick stuff and get the independents.
Finally, look in the mirror and ask yourself this question: Do I really want to win? If you do, then get tough. I think you have it in you. Bush 41 didn't. Dole didn't. With all due respect to Hawaii, where I love to vacation, growing up in an apartment in Honolulu, not to mention Southeast Asia, ain't the heartland of America. That's why he talks about the price of arugula at Whole Foods, thinks there are 57 states, forgets to salute the flag and has a problem with the flag pin. It not that he's not patriotic, it's that he's more a citizen of the world than of America.
Tell the American people that he has everything you'd want in a U.N. ambassador — and that you will honor him in defeat by appointing him to that post. Relentlessly attack him as not being a product of the heartland and you will trouble its voters enough to pass him by — at least this time.

Democrats Simply Don't Care
With gas prices crippling lower and middle income families where are the Democrats who hold both houses of Congress? They are now where to be found and when presented the solutions that would make America energy independent, they oppose it.
The truth of the matter is the Democrats don't care that Americans are suffering. If people are looking for the culprets behind this national nightmare they only need to look at Democrats who have blocked all attempts to become energy independent for years and years.

Children Are Now Protesting Gas Prices
Sadie and Pyper Vance ages 9 and 7 recently marched downtown Salt Lake carrying a sign that said “all of my mom’s money goes to the gas tank.” The reason these two little sisters were protesting in the streets is because their mom cancelled the Cable TV leaving them without their favorite cartoons because the money was needed to cover the high cost of gas now over $4.00 a gallon. When asked about their mini - protest little Sadie said, "Gas prices are too high, "I just decided to come and protest so they'd go down."
These little girls protest symbolize the effects the high gas prices are having on middle, lower and working class families. Family budgets are being crippled because not only have energy prices gone through the roof, so has the cost of food. Why is this occurring?
The fault lays directly at the feet of a do nothing Democrat controlled Congress who continues to block all attempts for America to become energy independent. America is at the mercy of foreign oil and liberals in Congress and the Democrat party specifically refuses to lift the bans on tapping America’s vast energy resources. America needs to be developing nuclear energy, clean coal energy, natural gas, solar, wind, hydrogen and we need to tap our vast oil reserves.

American Idol
Today’s blog has nothing to do with politics, policy or political parties. I want to blog about American Idol.
Last night after 97 million votes where cast, Missouri native and Oklahoma resident David Cook won the American Idol competition and was crowned this year’s American Idol. While who won and who lost probably doesn’t mean much compared to the larger issues facing America, it was a great example of the American spirit.
Week after week, our family gathered around the TV to watch incredibly talented young people pursue a passion for singing and strive to win the grand prize as the American Idol. We got to root for our favorite singer, vote for them, join Randy, Paula and Simeon as music critics and watch these young people, pursue their passion, sometimes winning praise and other times enduring criticism.
We watched the early shows that show cased those with great talent, good talent, mediocre, bad and others with no talent. We watched the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. We watched one young man that sings, “Your Are My Brother.” He was absolutely horrible as a singer, but he some how won a place in your heart and ended up singing his song in the finale.
As for others, probably for the first time in their lives they were told that had no talent and should pursue something other then singing. For them the world may have seemed to have come to an end, but sometimes the truth hurts. In the long run they will be much better off in life pursuing something they are more suited for because they really had no singing talent. We saw the bizarre that tried out for the competition just to get their few minutes of fame on TV and for others that really were angry to be told they had no talent.
Then the show moved past the auditions and took those few dozen with real talent and the real competition began. One by one the contestants sang their songs and then had to face the judges and the people. The three judges (Randy, Paula and Simeon) ranged from brutally honest to sympathizing, but all have an ear and feel for great talent. One by one the lesser talents were voted off and in some cases the better talents were voted off.
However, in the end you had the best talent singing their hearts out with many of them facing a bright future in the entertainment field applying their craft because American Idol gave them an opportunity to pursue their dream as singers.
It really is good family entertainment. My wife and I had to laugh when our four year old son said about one girl after her performance, “she needs to go home.” We also laughed watching our 18 month daughter dance or laughing at ourselves for a critiquing a performance when we can’t carry a tune in a bucket if our lives depended on it. I think they call it good old fashion family fun.
In the end stood two incredibly talented young men that should have great and prosperous singing careers ahead of them with millions of fans rooting for them. In the end, David Cook a nice and humble young man with an incredible gift of singing won the competition. While you had be happy for him, you also had to be happy for all those young men and women who with great talent pursued a dream to be an American Idol. Many of them will go on to have incredible careers and some I sure will go back to wherever they came from and continue to sing because that’s what they love to do.
Sometimes we all need to step away from the pressures of life and gather our families and enjoy the moment.

Resurrecting Conservatism and the Republican Party
As a conservative and a party affiliation of Republican, what is it that our party stands for again? Every time I get call from the GOP for a solicitation for money, I keep asking the same question. I have been a conservative Republican since the Reagan days and for the past few years the Republican Party doesn’t come close to resembling the party that I have so proudly supported all these years.
Our party has been rocked by scandal, government expansion, fiscal irresponsibility and outright incompetence. The American people gave the Republicans the Congress and the White House because they agreed with the fundamental principles and commitments that the Republican Party espoused in the Contract with America.
What did the Republicans do with that power? They acted like liberal Democrats. To say the Republican brand is damaged is the understatement of the decade. What happened?
Let me throw out a few words and see if they aren’t true; compromise, corruption, opposition, over-spending and articulation. Let me explain. When Republicans laid out an agenda that reflected a conservative agenda, the American people gave power to the Republicans. What did the Republicans do? They compromised conservative principles and allowed the size and scope of government to expand. Secondly, corruption was found in the ranks. Too many elected Republicans went to jail for being corrupt. It’s kind of hard to say you’re the party of morality and ethics when there is that level of corruption going on.
Thirdly, there was opposition from liberal Democrats and a corrupt and biased news media. While this is not necessarily the fault of Republicans, Republicans allowed the opposition to define Republicans. Where were the fierce supporters of the conservative cause when liberals were attacking them? These weak knee Republicans were either too afraid to say anything or they were busy throwing their own under the bus as liberals targeted certain members. Instead of facing down the opposition, Republicans caved to them.
Fourthly, Republicans who controlled the power of the purse spend money like a bunch of drunken sailors. While Republicans can argue the liberal Democrats were encouraging them to spend more and more money, guess who got holding the bag? You would have thought that Republicans would have learned the lesson from what happened to the first George Bush for compromising with Democrats over raising taxes after saying “ read my lips, no new taxes,” you would have thought Republicans would have got a clue about how liberals operate. Obviously not and once again look who got left looking like liberal spenders.
What the Republicans should have done is look square in the eye of the American people and say, it is the role of government to protect the American people and try to create a playing field that allows the greatest amount of people the opportunity to succeed, but it is not the role of government to provide every need in life. They also should say, sorry we can’t afford it. Had they stuck to their principles and not caved to a minority of whiners, they would still have the respect of the vast majority of American people. While there are always things we as a society want, we do understand being told it’s not our responsibility and we can’t afford it.
Finally, Republicans failed to articulate conservatism. Life is full of teachable moments. Conservatives should be out there whenever they can to articulate what conservatism is and explain why it is superior to liberalism. The vast majority of Americans regardless of their party affiliation live their lives as conservatives. They believe in God, traditional marriage, the American flag, they are patriotic and fiscally and socially responsible. Why Republicans ceased to articulate conservatism is beyond me.
So where do Republicans go from here. First, I suggest that liberal Republicans leave the Republican Party and go join the Democrat Party. Liberals have a home. It’s called the Democrat Party. The GOP should identify liberals in the party and cut off all funding to them.
Secondly, the Republican elected leaders should have gather on the steps of a capital and apologize to the American people for compromising its principles. Thirdly, they should present a new and fresh conservative agenda. Something akin to the Contract with America. Fourthly, recruit new and fresh conservative faces to run for elected offices.
Fifthly, get out and campaign on the agenda, teach conservatism and ask the American people for a second chance to earn their trust. Lastly, Republican need to quit this compromising with liberals and don’t buy into this bi-partisan non-sense. What America wants is an effective government not a bi-partisan government. If your ideas, policies and vision are superior to the other party and long term they bring the best results for the vast majority of Americans, they will support you and your party.

What's Wrong With Wright
I recently looked up the definition of Black Liberation Theology, which Rev. Wright espouses. The black liberation theology has its roots in the 1960s civil-rights activism and draws inspiration from both the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X.
Its founder the Rev. James Cone says that the core of black liberation theology is an effort in a white-dominated society, in which defines black as evil to make the gospel relevant to the life and struggles of American blacks. Its goal is to help black people learn to love themselves and teach black people how to be both unapologetically black and Christian at the same time.
On the surface such a movement seems harmless until you look deeper into the belief system. Rev Cone defines the movement this way, “Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love."
The error in this theology is many fold. The first erroneous premise is that God must belong to the black community. God is not help hostage to any community. He is a community all to himself and he invites all people of every skin color to be a part of his community through Jesus Christ. To say that God must belong to the black community or any other community for that matter as a condition for acceptance is nothing more than idolatry.
Secondly, this form of theology can only work if there is true white oppression. In the absence of white oppression, black liberation theology doesn’t work or make any sense. This may explain the consent mantra of white oppression coming from the likes of Rev. Wright. White oppression is the backbone in which holds up this warped theology. America is now four (4) generations removed from slavery and forced segregation is now four decades removed. No longer is there any laws on the books that discriminate against people because of skin color and forced segregation is now foreign to most Americans.
While there are still pockets of prejudice and bigotry in our country shared by weak minded people of all skin colors, the vast majority of Americans hate racism and the thought of discrimination of anyone based on race is repulsing.
Thirdly, black liberation theology becomes is a self-fulfilling prophesy of isolation which results in continued economic and social poverty. The theology on one hand calls for blacks to be self-reliant and to care for their own, but in doing so they end up insolating themselves from the larger economic and social market. The black population makes up 13.5% of the US population. By limiting its focus to the 13.5% of the population it excludes the other 86.5% of the population. This self imposed limitation results in fewer jobs, less opportunity, less prosperity, fewer resources etc. In turn, the theology blames white oppression for what is in fact self-imposed economic and social isolation.
To illustrate the absurdity of this theology, let’s examine the counter reality of two highly successful black people.
Michael Jordan arguably may be the best basketball player of our generation and Opra Winfrey the most successful TV Talk Show host of this generation. Not withstanding his tremendous ability on the basketball court and Opra’s talent and ability, Jordan and Winfrey are masters at marketing their name. Anything they endorse and put their name behind sells because of their brand. Their market is particular demographics of all races. The result is they are both tremendously successful.
Should Jordan or Winfrey follow black liberation theology, they would only focus their brand to blacks only. They would in turn go from marketing their brand to 100% of their targeted demographics of all races down to 13.5% resulting in a loss of 86.5% market share. The result will be less influence, less money and less opportunity.
What’s wrong with the Rev. Wright is his theology is flawed, his perceived world view of whites and their so-called oppression of blacks are distorted and he is blinded by his own bigotry, prejudice and a black form of racism. While Wright is a skilled communicator, very learned and studied man, the message he so passionately espouses only continues to hold the black community down instead of lifting it up. It should be that in all our hearts we want our neighbor, whatever the skin color to prosper and experience the great opportunities this country has to offer.

California Okays Gay Marriage
The Supreme Court of California is the second state to usurp the will of the people by striking down a ban on gay marriage. This is the second state to do so, opening the way for a full constitutional challenge to the traditional definition of marriage between a man and a women.
The ultimate goal of the gay rights crowd is be in the position to sue any institution, especially churches that do not accept homosexuality as a legitimate and moral lifestyle. Granting marriage rights to homosexuals by a state will be followed up by laws that will not allow churches or any other public and private institutions to reject or discriminate against homosexuality.
This decision by the far left California liberal Supreme Court is just another step in destroying the traditional family and paving the way for religious persecution to begin. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has said he supports the decision and will not support an amendment to the California Constitution to stop this insanity.
Schwarzengger is the poster child for what happens when Republicans allow liberals into their house. Now that Republicans have all but abandoned conservative principals and compromised with liberals, the very institutions that have held every great society together and made America great for over 200 years is now under attack from people who have chosen an immoral, unnatural and destructive lifestyle.
It was not enough for homosexual to keep their sexual preference to themselves, now they are demanding legitimacy. It is time for the American people to stand and turn back the attacks from a small minority of people who want to destroy the traditional family and the institutions that have been the bedrock of a civilized society. Any politician from any party that supports gay marriage and gay rights must be targeted for defeat at the ballot box. Now is the time to fight, clean house and turn back this attack on the family.

Grass Roots Conservatism
I am really happy to see Governor Huckabee create Huck-PAC. After years of neglect and compromise, the Republican Party needs a good old fashion house cleaning. Instead of electing liberal Democrats into office, the goal should be for conservatives to offer a fresh vision by challenging those Republicans that have abandoned the conservative movement.
The starting point is to mobilize and start locating qualified and committed economic, social and national security conservatives to challenge the moderate and liberal Republicans who are to blame for losing the Congress in the last election. I believe Governor Huckabee is the person most capable of leading the next generation of true conservatives.

No Debate No Vote
I’m sick of the liberal media. I am sick of the Republican establishment that lost Congress in the last election. I am sick of John McCain’s liberal tendencies. I am sick of John McCain ducking debates. I am sick of Sean Hanity and Rush Limbaugh espousing conservatism then ignoring arguably the most conservative of all the candidates, Mike Huckabee.
I am a social conservative, economic conservative and a national security conservative and I am totally disgusted with the lack of debate in this year’s election process. I was excited when Newt Gingrich talked about Lincoln-Douglas style debates and what we got was sound bites and no real substance. Now, there are only two Republican candidates running, we get no debate because the moron Republican establishment and liberal media decided to do everything in their power to silence Mike Huckabee and coronate the moderate John McCain.
Republicans have wasted an opportunity to redefine itself and to return to its conservative values. It’s pretty damn sad when over a third of the base has been so shut out that they don’t even want to vote. The argument that somehow that the lesser of one evil is better then two evils isn’t much of an argument, is it? I thought I would never say this, but I am seriously considering sitting out this election. I am sick of this BS called a Presidential campaign.
When John McCain and the Republicans get trounced in the general election, conservatives will be blamed for the loss because they sat home. You know what, they will be right. The reason Republicans and McCain will lose by a landslide is because conservatives sat at home. The lesson learned will be if you ignore and silence conservatives during the primary campaign then don’t expect their vote during the general election.
Remember the tripod of modern conservatism, social, economic and national security conservatism. Try to ignore the largest block of the leg, social conservatives and see how many elections you win.
